Munnar is beautiful no doubt…but its kinda tip of the iceberg. Kerala has so much more to offer, that you will be surprised

Sweet! I have memories of Munnar, which I shall share here. Do bear with me while I babble.

Memory #1: Going to Munnar on a two-week long National Service Scheme volunteer camp. The excellent time playing football in the greenest thickest-cushioned ground ever. Cleaning horrible filthy ditches in various places in Munnar town and the whole panchayat. Listening to utterly boring speeches by the honourable panchayat members. Writing and presenting camp reports in the night. Carrying a lot of water to the camp canteen. Guess who was the best volunteer in that camp.

Memory #2: An exam season. One of the papers is suddenly postponed because death of a director in the college management. There're more of them waiting, but by 4:30pm someone had an idea to use the opportunity to pay Munnar a visit. By 5:30pm a bunch of souls are in Aluva bus stand. By 11:30pm all of them are in a cold Munnar street, shivering, without a place to stay and less than a quarter bottle of something or the other rum. Yours truly had less than ten rupees on him, besides the shirt and pair of pants that he was wearing at the time.

Thanks for listening. What I was trying to say is this: life would be utterly pointless without friends.

Munnar is a wonderful place. I went for vacation during Dec 2007 for a week (Munnar and Kumarakom). Both of us loved Munnar and wished we could have spent couple of days more there instead of Kumarakom.

We stayed in property called Club Mahindra Resorts .. very nice place.

Munnar is beautiful, Since I grew up in Kerala it was the closest getaway for our family. I havent been there after my undergrad, Rosh & I are planning to take our families for a weekend trip together to Munnar. I look forward to it.

Your pics bring back old memories. This one time I saw Karishma Kapoor, Govinda & Anupam Kher sitting in the lobby of a Munnar hotel.
